Yosemite Valley on Pro Image 100 35mm film

Every year my husband asks what I would like for my birthday, and every year I say 'camera film please', except this year. This year I turned 50 and he got a lot more than he bargained for when I answered 'to go to Yosemite'. Go big or go home I say.

In this post I'm sharing some of the film photos taken on that trip (and there are plenty more to follow) from our morning in Yosemite valley. We got up an an ungodly 5am in order to make it into the valley before the tourists. Even in April it can get busy and if there's one thing I'm not a fan of, it's people. 😅

People being in my photos, fine. But herding along in a line full of other peoples obnoxious kids, not fine. I know, I know, I'm a grump. The older I get, the less my tolerance is for anything that doesn't bring me joy.

I'll share my digital images in a separate post, this one's going to be pure unadulterated film goodness. So why did I go for Kodak Pro Image 100 as my vacation film of choice? It's well-known for being stable and handling heat and humidity better than most color films and with a spike in temperatures forecast it seemed like a good choice. That may have been a bit of overkill seeing as I read it's good even in tropical rainforests, but that's the thing about me being from the UK, anything over 16 degrees is tropical. I was also swayed by the fact it was on offer at Analogue Wonderland.😅

Camera wise I took my Canon Eos 3, and these were taken by both myself and my long suffering husband Al, who took to the camera like a duck to water - honestly I cannot rate the camera enough.
