I've not used my Polaroid Now in ages. I'd recently bulk-bought-at-the-last-minute film for our recent trip to Stockholm, stressed about getting it through airport security scanners, only to not use it at all during the trip.
So when I grabbed 3 packs of film and headed down to Calshot one sunny Autumnal morning I wasn't sure if any photos would actually come out.
This film had been through the security scanner on the way out, which I was told is now fine for any film speeds up to 800 iso, but it went in my checked in luggage on the way back - and I thought that might have an adverse affect, such as the well know 'fogging' if can cause to regular camera film.
I was over the moon when the polaroids came out ok and I loved the tones from the Color i-Type film.
I'm not a big fan of the overly bright, strong sun mornings we get at this time of the year, when the light is almost savage. I'm more of a catch the morning or evening light, of the soft light that comes with a cloudier day. It's hard to get any kind of mood when the sun is that bright and in previous years I've refused to take the camera out when it's like that.
2024 was the year I worked out that the savage bright sun days are great for b&w film and instant film, feels like quite the revelation to me!
